Medical Benefits of using tights

Fashion tights are now widely considered to be an accessory to a stylish outfit! In our country, teens are going crazy with K-pop (Korean Pop Stars) and their colorful, trendy and fashionable setups. Mini-skits, colored tights, shoe-matching fashion belt and cuffed sleeves tops

From a piece of hosiery three decades ago, tights now became an essential part of clothing. One can choose from wool, sheer, patterns, , fishnets and a thousands of other styles and designs. Tights are mostly worn by women and girls of all ages, babies and toddlers. How about men? In the world of sport, suspender tights are commonly worn by athletes (men or women) as base layer garment or as protection for injury and strain. Tights have medical benefits too – improves blood circulation and prevent dangerous blood clotting.

As for me, I have 4 pairs of tights for my cycling and running exercises. I love to add more pairs to my collection.

GPS for my bike

I’m an avid fan of Mountain biking. I’m doing it myself too. The sense of fulfillment and adventure is one thing that keeps me going and doing it. Plus the health benefits I can get from it. Twice or thrice a week, I would spend 1 ½ hours to two hours traversing the mountain ranges and mountain tracks near our place. I really like the idea of going to new places I have not been before and experiencing the adrenaline rush going thru the rough trails.

Our city fortunately is the adventure capital of Mindanao. You can see many Biking organizations which sponsor many biking events here in our place. Witnessing one event, you can see many bikers with high tech gadgets and very expensive mountain bikes. Some have geocaching GPS units which to be honest I myself envied. Wheewww…mountain biking is quite expensive with regards to the gadgets and bike parts. But it’s all worth it. I’m thinking on buying one of those GPS units one of these days.

Storm Mina Left the Country

At last the  lashing of  Tropical Storm Mina is over. It has left the country yesterday.  Thank God she has left no greater damage… only landslide and  flooding in some areas in the country. In our city, it has done nothing  big. Only heavy rains in the afternoon until evening.  I hope this month  would be sunny. Oh.. how I missed  my biking spree. I wish to do my rounds this month on a daily basis. Let me check the the weather bureau .

Danger of Energy Drink

Are energy drinks effective and safe? What made me asked this question was that my son had a minor heart palpitation after drinking a cup of energy drink made from “Extra jozz” ( a local maker). Actually the energy drink is mine but he was tempted to drink it before going out for a basketball game early morning last Saturday. He was not able to finish the game and went home immediately after feeling the palpitation. Good that the basketball court is just a block away from home, he was able to get our attention quickly. We just let him rest and drink a lot of water afterward. It was then we knew that it’s not his first time to experience it but his second.

Energy drinks are beverages whose makers advertise that they “boost energy.” These advertisements usually do not emphasize energy derived from the sugar they contain but rather increased energy release due to a variety of stimulants and vitamins.

I guess he’s still too young ( 14 yrs. old) to drink this energy booster or maybe the drink itself is not good for him.
